CREAToR is an EU-funded project focused on developing and demonstrating processes (at TRL 5) to remove hazardous flame retardants containing bromine using continuous purification technologies. The project will implement the way to collect secondary raw materials, identify the presence of hazardous flame retardants, remove these contaminants from materials and finally reuse materials. As case studies, purified materials will be reused as valuable secondary raw materials for the new B&C insulation panels, for automotive interior applications and for the production of 3 D printed parts for aerospace applications, closing the circle of economy. Creator will cover the entire value chain, starting from the collection of thermoplastic waste streams from buildings and buildings (B&C) and from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
